Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit for a Surface Analyst in the Lancashire area on behalf of a global materials manufacturer.
As a Surface Analyst, you will be responsible for operating various analytical instruments for use on a range of materials. Surface analysis experience essential.
To be considered for the role you must be degree educated in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a closely related subject.
Role requirements
Degree educated in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics or a closely related subject. PhD in either of these subjects highly desirable.
Previous hands on experience with various surface analysis techniques such as SEM, AFM, XPS, XRD essential.
Any experience with Secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) highly desirable.
Any data analysis experience is also highly desirable.
Driving licence and car required.
Role responsibilities
Operate analytical equipment on a daily basis, primarily SIMS in order to analyse materials.
Interpret and analyse results in order to prepare formal reports.
Liaise with cross functional teams and customers on a daily basis.
Support the engineering and analysis group within the teams global R&D function.

Smart4Chemicals are recruiting for a QA Officer in the Northwest of Lancashire area.
To be considered for the role of QA Officer you must have experience with IATF16949. You must also have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role. As a QA Officer you will be responsible for conducting internal audits to IATF16949 and AS/EN9100 standards. Candidates without IATF or AS/EN experience but have ISO13485 experience are still encouraged to apply. Any other quality standards aren’t applicable to the role.
Role requirements
2+ years in a similar role is essential.
Educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline is highly desirable, equivalent experience with no degree is also acceptable.
Previous experience in auditing to ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards essential.
Any experience with AS/EN9100 standards highly desirable.
Any experience with APQP, PPAP or FMEA is also highly desirable.
Role responsibilities
Manage internal QMS to ISO9001, IATF16949 and AS/EN9100 standards.
Leading quality projects to ensure quality compliance for relevant products and services across full life cycles.
Approve batch releases from a full quality remit and define, manage and implement plans to achieve QA compliance for relevant products.
Liaise with customers and manage any complaints in order to put corrective and preventative measures in place to stop quality issues from reoccurring
To be considered for the role of QA Officer you must have experience with IATF16949. You must also have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
