Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit a Mechanical Testing Technician on behalf of one of our clients who are a global leading materials manufacturer.

As a Mechanical Testing Technician, you will be responsible for mechanically testing adhesive and composite materials using various international or customer standards tests.

To be considered for the role of Mechanical Testing Technician you must have experience in mechanical testing whether from education or industrial experience. Bachelors degree is highly desirable, as is a HNC/HND.

People without educational qualifications are also encouraged to apply as long as you have mechanical testing experience.

This position will be on a shift basis working a two or three shift pattern. Shift allowance will be added on top of your salary, 2 shift pattern equates to 10% and 3 shift equates to 16.67% of an uplift to salary on offer.

 

Role requirements

  • Ideally Bachelors educated in an engineering discipline. HNC/HND still suitable. People without these qualifications are still encouraged to apply.
  • Hands on experience or a good understanding of mechanical testing techniques is essential for the role.
  • Practical experience in operating test frames in a mechanical testing environment highly desirable.
  • Any knowledge of composite materials and reinforcement technologies also highly desirable.

 

Role responsibilities

  • Mechanically test composite materials on a daily basis.
  • Operate various machinery on a daily basis to business needs.
  • Liaise with cross functional teams in order to meet task requirements.
  • Physical and analytical testing of composite/adhesive panel fabrication.
